ABOUT
Rotary Club of Ambattur (RCA) Chartered on Twenty Eighth August 1980 - the sixth club in the city of Chennai was sponsored by R C Madras West and the first of the second generation clubs.

Ambattur is an industrial area where one of the largest & oldest industrial estates of Asia is situated. Looking back to 1980, the industrialists felt the need for serving the neighborhood with education and healthcare which would be an integral part of the workers’ welfare.

This is how a few like-minded industrialists led the way to the formation of RCA. Thus the formation of club followed the needs of the community rather than the other way of forming the club and exploring for projects.

A Trust under the Name of “AMBATTUR ROTARY CHARITABLE TRUST “was registered on 1st June 1987 to carry on the projects to serve the under privileged. Rtn. Jai Shetty, one of the charter member of Rotary Club Of Ambattur was instrumental in starting this Trust in June 1987 & became the founder trustee of the TRUST (better known as ARCT).

The Trust started with humble beginning and now has four long term signature projects under its umbrella, namely, Ambattur Rotary Hospital, T.V.Nagar School, SCAW & Ayapakkam Neumayer after school centre project.

ARCT runs with the funds raised through their fund raising activities and from the generous contribution from corporate companies and many philanthropists from around the globe.

ARCT is registered as a charitable Trust under sections 12AA and 80 G of the Income Tax Act.
